Tickets

Age Recommendations

Our shows and performances are recommended for ages six and up. Regardless of age requirements, all audience members must have a ticket to attend the performance unless otherwise noted. For the consideration of all patrons, children on laps and/or babies in arms are strongly discouraged. Patrons of any age who disturb other concertgoers will be asked to leave.

Secondary Ticketing and Scalpers

Dayton Performing Arts Alliance and Dayton Live are the only authorized sellers of tickets to DPAA performances in the Victoria Theatre, Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center (Mead Theater and Mathile Theater), The Loft Theatre, and the PNC Arts Annex.

Ticket brokers have launched fraudulent websites that often include the theatre name and/or production name to deceive ticket buyers into purchasing invalid or exorbitantly priced tickets. DPAA is unable to honor refunds or seat exchanges for any fraudulent tickets purchased by secondary or third-party vendors. The only way patrons can be sure that they are purchasing legitimate tickets at the correct ticket price is to purchase tickets in person at the Box Office; by phone at (937) 228-3630; or online through daytonperformingarts.org or daytonlive.org.

If you suspect you have purchased from a third-party ticket vendor, call the Box Office at (937) 228-3630 prior to the performance date to confirm your order.

Exchanges and Refunds

Patrons may call the box office to exchange their tickets, place the value of their tickets on account, or donate the value of their tickets to DPAA. These adjustments must be made prior to the performance; we are unable to process these adjustments after the performance date.

Subscribers in a DPAA series (including but not limited to Ballet, Opera, Masterworks, Rockin’ Orchestra, SuperPops, Family, and Special Events) can exchange their tickets for free. Depending on the new tickets selected there may be an upgrade amount for the price of the tickets. Patrons without a subscription may be charged an exchange fee.

If a patron decides to cancel a season subscription and receive a refund or credit, they will lose their current seat selection. DPAA cannot guarantee seating and package availability for future events or subscription series.

If you have any questions regarding ticketing, please contact the Box Office at (937) 228-3630.

Group Sales

Group sales are available for groups of ten individuals or more, and discounts start at 10% off adult-priced tickets.

To learn more, visit our Group Sales page or contact our Engagement & Patron Services Manager, Kate LaFollette at (937) 535-5443.

Venue Policies

Photo, Video, and Audio Recording

Due to a variety of reasons, including contracts, copyright laws, performer safety, and an effort to ensure that all audience members have an enjoyable experience, unauthorized photography, video, and/or audio recording of any kind is prohibited at all Dayton Performing Arts Alliance performances. DPAA reserves the right to remove anyone violating this policy from the theatre and has the legal authority to take appropriate measures to remove unofficial content from online channels, as required.

Please consider taking photos before or after the performance in the theatre lobby, and please tag the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance social media channels.

Please also note, your attendance at any DPAA event constitutes your implicit consent for DPAA to capture and/or record your image or likeness for use in photography, live or recorded video display, or other transmission or production, in whole or in part, of this event for any promotional, commercial, or non-commercial use.

Cell Phone Usage

We ask that you silence all your electronic devices before the performance begins. We do, however, encourage you to view our digital program book on your phone or tablet throughout the performance. Remember to lower the brightness of your screen and be sure your ringer is off!

Late Seating

Opportunities for late seating vary according to each performance and are at the discretion of the House Manager. Ushers may ask you to wait until there is a pause or place you in a temporary seat within the hall. Monitors are available in the lobby for you to watch the performance until the designated time.

Reentry

Should you need to exit the theatre for any reason, there is a possibility you may not be readmitted until the next opportunity for seating.

Food and Beverages

At most performances, we provide a full bar, including beer, wine, liquor, soft drinks, and water. Grab your favorite snack and enjoy your show. You are welcome to stop by Starbucks in the Schuster Center Wintergarden. Beverages are permitted in the theatre, but we ask that you finish your snacks and food in the lobbies.

Safety

Security is provided onsite for every performance inside and outside the venues. The venues, including The Arts Garage, are also actively monitored by security cameras.

For your safety, please lock your car doors and remove all valuables when parking.

All persons entering the Schuster Center or Victoria Theatre must walk through the Evolv Express screening system. Patrons do not need to empty pockets or remove jackets, but bags may be subject to a secondary search. This screening does not interfere with medical devices, but you may request alternative screening measures.

In case of an emergency in the theatre, the ushers and House Managers are trained to help you quickly and safely exit the facility.

In the case of a medical emergency or a missing person, notify an usher or member of security either in person or by calling the emergency line at (937) 225-3503. When prompted, dial 2 for Security, and they will direct the call to the House Manager on duty. An EMT will be present at DPAA performances when there is a substantial crowd.

Items may be claimed or reported as lost at the Dayton Live Security Office on Ludlow Street.

DPAA will attempt to contact all ticket holders by email and/or automated call. If your ticketed performance goes on as scheduled, but you choose not to attend, all standard exchange policies apply. Please contact the Box Office BEFORE your ticketed show begins if you have questions about those policies or would like to see what your options are.

Learning and Community Engagement (LCE) specific programs follow local school closings and weather emergency levels to determine whether to cancel classes or performances or release students early. LCE programs include Dayton Ballet School, Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic Youth Strings, Dayton Philharmonic Junior Strings, DPAA ensembles scheduled at school, Q the Music, Opera Artists-in-Residence performances, and volunteer activities.
